Thanks to the kind permission of Penny & Adam Streeter and Jamie Harris, the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group is holding this year’s Annual General Meeting at Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens in The Courtyard at 1.45pm on Saturday 31st May.
The event will be hosted by the Southeast Branch and include the RCM Group Centenary Cup Competition, to be held in The Wine Garden, a walled area adjacent to The Courtyard.
Details of the competition and how to enter will follow in due course but you may find the following information helpful beforehand:
The best exhibit in the competition will be awarded the Centenary Cup. There will be eight classes, the best exhibit in each class being awarded a certificate. The Centenary Cup will be awarded to the best of the eight exhibits.
All members are welcome to exhibit, and stewards will be available to help with staging. There will be an entry form which it would be helpful if you could complete when you receive it as it would be useful to know who is exhibiting and roughly how many exhibits they intend to bring, just to help with staging.
Exhibitors on site between 7:00 & 9:00 may use the hotel entrance and drive to The Courtyard. After 9:00 all cars are to be removed from there and entrance is only via the Main Car Park. Free Car park passes will be available to competitors and officials so long as they fill in the ‘Attendance and Free parking pass’ form when it is received and return it to Robbie by 29th May. Please consider car sharing.
Staging for the Centenary Cup Competition: Saturday 31st May: 7:00am to 10:30am Judging: From 10:30am until 11:30am. All exhibitors will be asked to leave whilst judging takes place.
Immediately after judging is completed the presentation of the prize certificates for each class will be made. Once judging has been completed the show will be open to the public. The winner of the Centenary Cup will be announced and presented with the Cup after the AGM.

The show will also be open to the public on Sunday 1st June from 10am until 3pm.

The gardens will be open to all AGM attendees and competition entrants whilst the judging takes place.
Parking for non-competitors and AGM attendees arriving after 9:00 will be in the Main Car Park.
The AGM will take place at 1.45pm followed by the presentation of the Centenary Cup.
After the AGM there will be guided tours with the Head Gardener Jamie Harris and his team from 14:30 until 16:00.
A table has been booked for supper at 6pm at The Crabtree pub close to Leonardslee and members are very welcome to join in. Overnight accommodation is locally available – see details below.

Sunday 1st June: Chris Loder will be offering tours of the adjacent nursery in the morning from 10:00. Please use the nursery car park if you are attending.
Tea and coffee will be available in the Clocktower Kitchen from 7:00am until 4:00pm for AGM attendees and competition entrants.
Lunch will be available in the adjacent restaurant and tea rooms.
