Introduced by Sander Nursery, Bruges c.1915 (as 'Joy Sander').

Upright and compact.
Flowers: medium (to 6.5cm) single with central golden stamen cluster; white flushed rose opal.
Early to mid season.
Foliage: broadly elliptic.
Habit: vigorous plant of upright, spreading growth.
The clone flowering in Western gardens was imported from the Yokohama Nursery by Victorian nurseryman Basil Hodgins and it was sent from there to Bill Wylam in California.
