Dense habit forming a large spreading shrub in time.
Flowers: single, deep reddish pink (in the UK) with a boss of yellow stamens; to 12cm across; with a pungent scent.
Very early.
Foliage: small dark shining leaves to 4cm by 2cm.
Flowers well in a warm sunny spot in the U.K.
