Medium semi-erect slightly open growth.
Flowers: medium formal double with a few stamens, occasionally semi-double; very dark 'black' red.
Foliage: quite large, mid green, glossy and slightly bullate.
Mid to late season.
One of the darkest of all camellias; the flower has fewer petals than most formal doubles. Very
reliable. Should not be confused with the C. sasanqua of the same name.
