Camellia japonica 'Momiji-Gari'

Origin unknown, found in Kumamoto prefecture
Habit upright, dense and vigorous.
Flowers: Higo type. Single with 7 broad, notched, red petals surrounding flared central stamens, which have pink-tinged filaments and yellow anthers.
Mid-season
Foliage: 9 x 4cm, glossy dark green, with only a few shallow serrations near the recurved tips.
Very free flowering as a landscape plant.
