Camellia trichocarpa
Distribution: South eastern Yunnan and south western Guizhou provinces of China.
The flowers are 3-9cm across, with seven to eight pure white, slightly crinkled petals and a broad, compact centre of golden
stamens.
Late Winter to early Spring.
Leaves are 5-8.5cm long and 2-4cm wide with finely toothed margins, dark green.
It makes a small tree up to 5m, with handsome cinnamon bark.
It has prospects as a garden plant in gardens that do not experience temperatures much below freezing.
