'Mark Jury' X M. x soulangeana 'Lennei'
Flowers: huge cup shaped blooms (up to 35cm across) are lilac pink with a creamy white interior. Fragrant.
Early spring
Foliage: to 30cm long and 20cm wide on vigorous round plants, boat shaped, similar to M. soulangiana.
Large tree. Upright when young, becoming more rounded with age, up to 6m wide.
Flowers well when young. Best with some shade in hot areas but prefers full to part sun, with rich moist
shaded soil and some sort of organic matter over the roots. Makes excellent lawn or accent tree.
