Magnolia cylindrica

Anhui, northern Jiangxi, northern Fujian and western Zhejiang Provinces in eastern China.
Flowers: cylindrical to 100mm long, pure white with delicate rays of pale pink at the base of the 6 tepals; pinkish filaments.
Flowering: late spring to early summer
Fruit: 50-75mm long fruit with red seeds.
Leaves: 100-150mm x 75mm, alternate, simple, dark glossy green leaves; pubescent underneath; smell of aniseed when crushed.
Trees or shrubs, 6-15m tall; 2-10m wide.
