Flowers: very large full truss of 12-14
white flowers with short crimson basal
streaks; very fragrant. March/April.
Fortunei type foliage.
Recognise by: green petioles and the
early scented flowers with distinctive
markings.
One of the finest hybrids of all time.
Does not flower freely when small. Easy
to grow but needs to be grafted. There
are two pink clones 'Alpine Rose' and
'Alpine Glow' which have purple
petioles.
