SPA (USA) 1971, AGM (1993) 2012
Shrub 2 x 1.4m in 17 years
Flowers: dome shaped 20 flowered truss, purplish buds open to bicoloured apricot and cream frilly
flowers with a scarlet dorsal blotch.
April/May.
Folliage: elliptic, 130 x 55mm, dark green, with mahogany new growth.

Compact growing, disease resistant and excellent in foliage and flower. Seems tolerant of sun but
may be better in light shade. Requires an annual feed to avoid chlorosis. Unfortunately needs
grafting. Should be in every collection.
