Loderi King George AGM

Rhododendron 'Loderi King George'
griffithianum x fortunei ssp. fortunei
Loder 1901
H4
FCC 1970, AGM (1993) 2012
5m/8m
10 year height/spread: 2m/2.5m
Flowers: enormous somewhat floppy trusses of about 12 pink buds open to
very large (14cm across) white flowers sometimes with very faint green spots
in the throat. Very fragrant. May.
Elliptic glabrous mid green foliage more similar to griffithianum but with
purple petioles.
Recognise by: the petioles, the truss and flower size and the far reaching scent. Needs grafting. The most floriferous
Loderi. Should be in every collection where space permits. Will tolerate cutting back.
