Bean (8th edn. 1976) records it as a hybrid of 'Corona', but the plant shows little evidence of this.

Flowers: conical truss, broadly campanulate, deep red/rich crimson, with a slight tinge of bronze.
Mid-May - Mid-June
Foliage: deep green.
Shrub 1.2m in 10 years.
