Rhododendron 'Percy Wiseman'
(yakushimanum x 'Fabia Tangerine')
selfed.
(so, yakushimanum, dichroanthum
and griersonianum)
Waterer Sons & Crisp 1971
H5
AMT 1982, AGM (1993) 2012
1.2m/2m
10 year height/spread: 0.8m/1m
Flowers: rounded trusses of about 14
flowers flushed peach pink and cream
which fade to cream, with a yellow
throat and faint green dorsal markings.
May/June.
Matt elliptic leaves slightly recurved
near the tip, NOT similar to
yakushimanum and with no
indumentum.
Recognise by: the yakushimanum
growth habit plus the leaves dissimilar
to that species; and the distinctively
coloured flowers.
Easy to root and grow; extremely free
flowering, with very attractive colours
throughout the life of the flower. The
lack of indumentum on the foliage
makes the stated parentage look
doubtful.
