A natural hybrid introduced from Bodnant 1937, grown at Carclew by Lemon, the plant originating
from Hooker's seed collections of 1849.

Flowers: conical trusses of about 10 white flowers speckled red.

Mid green recurved leaves intermediate between
the parents. A rounded upright plant.
Unmistakeable arboreum type foliage, dark green
above, and with a startling cinnamon indumentum
brighter than any form of arboreum.
Recognise by: the leaf type and indumentum.
Roots fairly easily. Very similar to but hardier than
arboreum. (Has been said to be a form of
arboreum album in the past). Not free flowering
as a young plant. Should be in every collection
where space permits.
