Flowers: spherical trusses of up to 15 bright deep currant red flowers with frilled margins, more
intense colour in the throat. April/May.
Long slightly bullate and recurved dark red glabrous leaves held for 3 years on a symmetrical medium sized shrub.
Recognise by: the foliage; the red growth and flower buds; the flowers.
Free flowering and easy to grow. An outstanding early red. Should be in every collection.
