Rhododendron 'Tessa Roza'
Praecox x moupinense
(so moupinense, ciliatum and dauricum)
Tower Court before 1935
H4
AM 1953, AGM 1993
0.9m by 0.7m
10 year height/spread: 0.4m/0.4m
Flowers: trusses of 3 rose pink flowers spotted
deeper pink about 5cm wide.
February/March.
Upright growth tending to be leggy but with
attractive peeling bark. Small dark recurved scaly
leaves.
Recognise by: the flowering time and colour; the
recurved emerald green foliage and the tendency
to bare growth on older plants.
A nice early pink hybrid to go with 'Praecox'.
Other forms have better growth habits but less
good colour.
