Shrub or tree 3 to 12m
Flowers: very compact truss of 15-20 flowers, tubular-campanulate, 26-38mm long, purplish-rose, pink, purple, scarlet or crimson, 5 nectar pouches.

Foliage: oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, 68-135 x 21-38, upper surface dark green or olive green, glabrous; lower surface matt with thin, woolly, continuous indumentumm, upper layer cinnamon, rust-coloured or dark brown.
Distribution: Nepal and Sikkim: 2750 - 3050m
