Flowers: usually greeny-yellow in bud, fading to cream when open, or rarely white, slightly scented (occasionally strongly).
April-July.
Usually epiphytic on trees, stumps or rocks.
Introduced: 1850, re-introduced 1970s.
Distribution: E. Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, SE Tibet 1800-2700m.
This variety has fine flowers in its best forms but is hard to keep tidy indoors. It shows some indication of heat and drought resistance.
