Flowers: creamy white to pale yellow with 5 bold red stripes down the lobes.
Late June - August.
Introduced: 1925.
Distribution: Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh 1500 - 2700m, in rain forest, cliffs, rocks, epiphytic or terrestrial.
This variety is perhaps easier to grow than var. dalhousiae and is useful for its late flowering. Its extraordinary
flowers never fail to attract comment.
