Shrub or small tree: 1.2 - 4.5m high.
Flowers: racemose, 6-15/truss, tubular-campanulate, 12-18mm long, fleshy, deep plum-purple, covered with glaucous bloom.
April-May.
Foliage: lanceolate or oblanceolate, 55-153 x 14-45mm; upper surface olive-green or dark green, not scaly; underside markedly glaucous, laxly scaly, small scales.
Distribution: NE Upper Burma, mid-W Yunnan, E & SE Tibet: 2000 - 4400m
