Height: 0.5 - 1.1m, a shrub.
Flowers: many flowers, small, white, rotate.
June-July.
Leaves: 17-80 x 5-20mm, broad, oblong-elliptic, apex acuminate, margins revolute, with long brown crisped hairs; upper surface dark green, somewhat tomentose with ferrugineous hairs; underside glaucous, densely white pubescent, somewhat papillate, scales 1-3 times their own diameter apart, midrib only with long crisped rust-coloured hairs.
Distribution: NE Russia, Japan.
