Epithet: with many small veins (in the leaves)
Introduced into cultivation: in 1980.
Flowers: up to 5 per irregular open umbel, funnel-shaped, 30-35 x 25mm, glossy orange or red, unscented,
tube 16-17 x 6-8 x 11-14mm.
Mar - Aug, Dec
Foliage: narrowly elliptic to almost linear, 56-80 x 7-14mm, 3-5 together in tight pseudowhorls.
Shrub to 1.5m, mostly terrestrial.
Distribution (1900-3050m):
Malaysia: Sabah: Mt. Kinabalu, Mt. Lotung.
It has lanky growth and intermediate in appearance between R.
stenophyllum and R.
exuberans
(it might be a hybrid between these two),but without the charm of either.
