Height: shrub 0.15-1.1m.
10 year height/spread: 0.1m/0.2m.
Flowers: trusses of 2-5 fine broadly funnel shaped lavender blue flowers to 1.5cm
long (the clone).
April/May.
Introduced: 1908 (the species).
Distribution: Yunnan, 3000 - 4300m.
Recognise by: dwarf habit with slender upright growths to 15cm high; the bright
blue intensely coloured flowers; narrowly elliptic or lanceolate leaves to 2cm densely
scaly with large brown scales on both surfaces.
Epithets: with many branches; sparkling.
