Epithet: alluding to the red pedicels seen on this species.
Introduced into cultivation: by Keith Adams in 1997.
Flowers: up to 9 per open umbel, tubular, 65 x 70mm, white, scented, tube 40-50 x c5 x c8mm.
Foliage: narrowly ovate, 90-160 x 20-45mm, mostly 5 in pseudowhorls with some reduced ones on the inter-nodes.
Shrub to 2m, terrestrial.
