Epithet: hunter, alluding to the scarlet colour of the flowers.

Height: 1.5 - 3m high.
Flowers: 5-10/truss, tubular-campanulate, 28-38mm long, scarlet or deep crimson, 5 nectar pouches.
May-June.
Leaves: oblong-lanceolate, lanceolate or oblanceolate, somewhat recurved, 60-140 x 17-40mm, upper surface dark green, somewhat rugulose, glabrous or hairy with stellate hairs, underside with widely or closely scattered white stellate hairs, eglandular, papillate.
Distribution: SE Tibet. 2000-2450m.
