Takedown Policy

The Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group have made reasonable efforts to find and contact rights-holders for material that we have digitised. However, where there are part-works with multiple authors we may not always be able to identify or trace all of those that hold rights. In such cases we have taken the decision to publish material online without consent in the interests of open access, provided we believe it does not contain sensitive or personal data. Any such materials published on our website are clearly identified as being of potentially missing copyright status or as containing orphan works on the item’s acknowledgements page.

If you are the rights holder of material published on the Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group website, and are concerned that you have not given us permission to publish the material online, please contact us stating the following details:

  • Your contact information
  • The material in question (Title, Volume No. etc)
  • The URL where you found the material
  • A statement and any proof you are able to provide of your status as the rights holder or authorised representative of the rights holder

Once received we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint, by email or by letter. We will then remove the material in question from our website, pending our assessment of the case. Once an assessment has been completed, if it has been determined that the material is in copyright, then its removal will last until the copyright in the material expires, or until the rights holder agrees that the material can be reinstated to the website.

You can contact us about the removal of material at archivist@rhodogroup-rhs.org or by writing to us at:
